HP W22

Hi,

Yesterday I saw that HP has released a new display, the HP W22.

Is anyone for million with display or has anyone read a review of this display ?

Thanks

I bought one and promptly broke it back to the store.

Significant back light bleed, more on bottom, yet more focused on the top.

Horrible uniformity, horrible washout effect, looking at the monitor straight on the task bar is washed out.

It has an "auto switch" feature, that can't be turned off, and gave me a lot of trouble trying to play several games that changed resolutions.

Colors were pretty good though, text was "ok".

Didn't really play any games, can't comment on ghosting or input lag.

Not sure if it's Chi-Mei, it really looked good in the store too, which is disappointing.

I wanted to do a full review to post here, but I needed to get it returned before any restocking fees.

I'll post some pictures soon.

I just purched the HP W22 about a week ago, and everything has been great so far. After doing a basic calibration with the Adobe Gamma utility it provides great brightness, contrast, and color for everyday web browsing, gaming, and photo viewing.

I haven't noticed too much backlight bleed (there is always some). What is there is very acceptable.

I have noticed some problems with the darker blacks, and apparent banding in some situations. But, for the price it is acceptable.

All-in-all, not a bad monitor. You definitely get what you pay for, and for what I paid, I think I am satisfied with the quality thus far.

But, my Wife hasn't done any photo editing yet (yikes).
