HP: Reward IT Managers for Green Thinking

The people at HP feel that IT managers should be allotted higher budgets when purchasing new hardware to allow for more energy efficient equipment. Then those savings can be applied to further projects down the road.

"Looking at the idea of power increasingly becoming a cost centre for businesses, then chief information officers need to make sure that they are being compensated for any investments they make in energy-efficient PCs or they will have no incentive to buy this kind of kit," he said.
 
A win win. Makes HP look like they care and might save them some money.
