I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with a friends computer and am stumped.
She has an HP Pavilion 7850. Her problems began when one day her computer shut off while it was on. She hasn't been able to get it to work since.
I took a look at it today and checked all connections inside (just in case) and everything looked fine. The problem wasn't with the outlet either. I also could hear the power button click when I depressed it, so it's not like it isn't reaching the actual switch. The only peculiar thing is that after unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in, when you first (and only first) press the power button, the hard drive activity light blinks quickly but there is no sound during this time.
My first guess is the power supply. However, it has a green indicator light on the rear that appears to show that it is working (to some degree?). It is an exceedingly small Hipro Model HP-K1363AB.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
