Just wondering if this is a good value. Im considering the fact that it comes with a 21" HPf2105 monitor. Remote Control, wireless keyboard and mouse, etc.
Link to data sheet

Local price for the package is $1,429.34+tax.

Is the computer set to handle a gaming upgrade?
- 7900GT
- 2gb ram (corsair or something higher-end)

Would it need a new power-supply? Is it lacking in PCI slots?

If you add the 2gb ram, video card upgrader, will it bring it to a price that would get me something better including a 21" widescreen monitor or equivalent?

What's out there that would be better?

- I currently have a P4 1.6ghz rig, 1gb Ram (maxed out), 128mb video memory and 17" CRT Sony monitor that I've had for the past 4 or 5yrs. I'm even running COD2 on this thing and although it aint crispy clean, it runs ok. (low ass settings).

Not a BAD deal - a good bit more than I'd pay, though. The monitor definitely sweetens the deal.

I'd take a look over at Gateway, actually, if you're looking at the Tier I's. They've got some nice C2D solutions for very reasonable prices. We've been a lot happier with Gateway's support, as well. HP support leaves a good bit to be desired. Gateway has awesome displays.

That is a good deal, I too got a HP for 800 bought a new case, PSU, and 7900GT and a Creative X-fi. That system would be very nice with a 7900GT a 2GB, though you would need to upgrade the powersupply.
