Sharing a current situation I have going with HP LP3065's...

I purchased two 30" Hewlett Packard LP3065 monitors from PCNation on 12/13/07.

Both have pixel defects.

One has a fully dead pixel on top left corner, and a dead green subpixel along top middle edge... not very obvious. I can live with it. Build date is Sept. 2007.

The other monitor has a fully dead pixel slightly left of center-screen. This one is very obvious. Build date is Aug. 2007.

These monitors have a 3-year warranty from HP.

HP also has a defective pixel policy, see this link:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...8895&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

"A full pixel defect is a bright white dot or very noticeable black dot on the display. No full pixel defects are allowed per HP's monitor specification."

PCNation has a return policy that requires going through the manufacturer to confirm issues before processing a return.

So I call HP support. They are a nightmare to deal with; using offshore resources who can barely communicate with English speaking customers. If I choose to resolve the issue through HP, the best they can do is to send refurbished units to replace brand new defective units.

I'll probably take this back up with PCNation to see if they can work out a replacement with a new unit.

In any case, I was a bit surprised that two out of two LP3065's I received have dead pixels.... feedback from other posters seem to indicate these monitors have a pretty good track record with no dead pixels.
