What is the refresh rate range for this monitor? Can it be lowered to 50Hz with powerstrip, that it's more suitable for PAL stuff?

Please, somebody test it!
 
It's pretty close to 59-61Hz, depending on cable quality. So no, you can't lower it to 50.
 
Have you try it?

Some monitors have 56-76Hz and they can still go to 50Hz.

So it doesn't work, that just sucks. They should be thinking more to PAL area people when making these monitors. I don't want to watch jerky videos. :mad:
 
Not really sure what you mean by jerky videos. I watch tons of DVDs, Xvid and divx -videos and HD material and everything runs and looks good. If it's video tearing you're worried about, I believe the programs have a fix for that, sinse I have only noticed tearing a few times and fiddling with settings fixed the problem. So I don't believe you have to be worried about video tearing even with 60Hz refresh rate.
 
No, I mean that when you watch especially interlaced PAL videos (which has 50 frames per second), on a 60Hz monitor it can't be smooth. It makes sense, right. I have tested that in two different monitor that can be lowered to 50Hz, there is a huge difference. It can be clearly seen in a scrolling text, that is example in the news.
 
The question is, how would you even get interlaced video to be viewed on this monitor? You can't connect a digibox nor game console or anything to this monitor. The only thing you can connect to it is a computer. And if you have interlaced material on your computer, there are plenty programs out there to deinterlace it.
 
Another thing the Videophiles will tell you is that all movies are 24fps originated so both 60Hz and 50Hz cause problems, you actually want 72Hz for movies.

I'm using DVB-C card and of course deinterlaced it first with purevideo to get 50 fps video out of it. It's not very pleasant to watch 50 fps video through 60Hz monitor.

I'd like to get monitor that is capable of doing 50 Hz for PAL videos and 72Hz for movies, but there is apparently not any 30" monitor that can do this.
 
Hey, SuperKeijo. Have you actually try lowering it to 50Hz using powerstrip? For tweaking both horizontal and vertical rates, how low can you get?

The refresh rates can also be adjusted in Nvidia control panel - custom timings. With the stock cables that came with the monitor the lowest I could get was 59.9 (no joke) and with my new higher quality cable I can hit 59.1. So I'm pretty sure there isn't any way of getting it to 50. It might be the dual link or the fact that it has no internal scaler, but the tolerance for refresh rates is very low.
