HP LP2465 Released

Nice. I wonder if compusa is going to carry it. My 23 inch lcd is messing up some and I have a warranty through them.

6ms G2G sounds pretty decent, wonder if this is the fastest of the 24" panels? Is this a S-IPS panel? With 178 degree viewing angles it certainly sounds like it.
Wonder how decent a gaming monitor this would be.

The designers must have slept through art class. This is the most mundane little monitor I have ever seen with an HP badge.

It is most likely a s-pva panel, personaly (from observations of sony, apple, eizo, samsung, dell 23/24inchers) s-pva panels have wider viewing angles than ips/s-ips panels but ips panel has the slight advantage of mantaining colour uniformity within its viewable angles

It's not supposed to be a work of art. It's a *monitor.* It looks clean and simple with nothing to distract anyone away from what's important: the image it's showing.

I cannot find out what panel this monitor is using. Anyone know yet?

Also, it doesn't say anywhere that it's hdcp. You'd think it would be being a new LCD.

Are you serious? I think it's pretty neat.. Allthough i just dislike the HP brand.

There are currently very few manufacturers producing/selling/marketting 24inch lcd, Based on the specs. HP LP2465 should be using the same s-pva samsung LTM240M2(?) ... as Acer, Eizo, Samsung and Dell models. And apparently does not support HDCP

It uses an S-PVA (Samsung LTM240M2). If you ever need to know what panel something uses just look it up at http://www.flatpanels.dk/panels.php.

I dont believe anyone is using the LG/Phillips 24 inch wide S-IPS panel yet. I know NEC will be using it in their 24 inch which comes out this fall.

However, according to this thread ( http://www.hardforum.com/printthread.php?t=1045653 ), the HP uses an AUO brand panel. The AUO panel has the exact specs as the Samsung.

Other forums have also stated that the HP uses an aUO panel. Do a search for "AUO HP LP2465"

Not sure maybe they are like dell and change their panels without telling anyone. The P-MVA would be a slight down grade from the S-PVA in the samsung.

I would still wait for the NEC 24 inch with the LG-Phillips S-IPS panel.

Will there be an GX2 or 70 series version of that screen or just for 90 series? Will it support HDCP or HDMI?

On topic as most here have said the HP 2645 uses the same panel as the Dell 2407 or the Samsung 244T but I don't think it supports HDCP.

The 2490 will support HDCP. It wont have HDMI but you could use a DVI to HDMI converter.

There are tentative plans for a Multi Function Monitor in the 24 wide category but it is still a ways off.

The HP seems like a good deal. the NEC will most likely cost at least 2 times more.
