hi,
I have a hp pavilion laptop for trade its a n5000 with the following specs:

900 mhz amd duron
256 mb ram
20 gig hard drive
windows xp
dvdrom

it has one issue, it need a new cpu fan.

i am looking things in the line of:
a new mother board
a good graphics card
ddr ram.
a cpu (better than my p4 2.6 ghz) that can use the same socket it possible

or $500 + shipping

i am trying to build a gaming rig or update my e-machine w4682

If you are putting up the notebook for sale, you must post a price.

are you sure thats a 500mhz Duron? it sounds to me like its just in power saving mode and is underclocking it. i have an HP laptop from that era (20gb, was stock with 256mb of ram) and its got a 1.2ghz duron in it(which i have modded to an athlon 4). when i am doing something simple with it (like word processing) it sits at 500mhz to conserve battery life and take the heat level down.

id try and look into that if i were you, a 1.2ghz duron will sell for much more than a 500mhz one will. i dont think 500mhz mobile durons even exist, but i could be wrong...
