I've been having a problem with my hp dvd writer ((i'm not sure if i'm in the right place))

I can burn and read cds fine.... but not dvds, i burnt dvds before and i watched a few on here once, but now it doesn't even detect it. I tried updating the driver, i havn't rolled back the driver yet, what should i do?
