So I'm having this problem with the wireless card in my laptop. I'm probably one step short of just ordering a new wireless card from Japan but I would like to try to fix it.

Sometimes when I turn the laptop on the wireless works just fine like right not I'm posting on it. Other times I'll turn it on or bring it out of sleep and it won't work at all, I'll flip the switch a few times nothing.

I have installed new drivers, installed/reinstall windows XP and windows vista both have the same thing going on.

I have reseated the wireless card, took it out entirely and booted the pc.

I see that other people have had similar problem and I would just like to fix it.

I anybody has any ideas they are much appreciated.

TIA

From here:

The following symptoms apply to the dv6000, dv9000 and v6000 series notebooks:

*
The notebook does not detect wireless networks and the wireless adapter is not detected in the Device Manager.

You might be in luck and HP may cover the repairs for you.

I didn't even think of going through Hp because my warranty was up. Hmm, guess I'm calling HP tomorrow.
