I was looking for 27 in Monitor to use as my main display for gaming and got HP 27xi an IPS display, this was going to replace my S2440L as my main gaming display.
I thong I thought lets see what is all the fuzz about IPS and got it on sale for $270. As soon as I turn it on I notice that if you look too close it gets washout and if you look from the sides it get washout. This is goin back to the store tomorrow morning. My 24in AMVA panel is way better than 27xi, I can't not downgrade from what I've been using so I may end up buying a 32 in tv as my main gaming display. here is a picture comparing both from above.

that's ips glow. if it bothers you that much, you'll need to stick with va panels. this includes tv's.

is the 27xi glossy or does it have an antiglare coating?
 
27xi is glossy.

Glow bothers me a lot then.
Yes VA is my type I am sure now, I may get a TV on the local store or BenQ GW2750HM.
 
Update. I got the TV today and guess what, it is an IPS but it is totally a different experience on TV. It supports 4:4:4 and the lag is minimal. I just hit the jackpot with this TV. my next upgrade will be 4k TV.
