I'm picking this monitor up tomorrow, and i noticed these come with speakers, so if i had my ps3 connected through hdmi and had my 2.1 speakers plugged into the monitor, would that then enable all 4 speakers at once making it 4.1 or would sound still only come out of my 2.1 speakers?

4.1, no, you would only have 2.1 w/ 4 satalite speakers. Also the speakers in the monitor will most likely sound like utter crap and not blend well with the 2.1 speakers at all.

To the left of the HDMI jack. Green round 3.5mm jack input.

thanks diablo, i saw that, but as you say it is an input jack. the original poster was talking about outputing sound from the monitor to speakers. or did i misunderstand?

You are not getting anything out of the built in speakers. I mean, they make sound but it is laptop sound at best. They really are only good enough if you have nothing else, I can't imagine listening to them full time. Too bad too, it would be nice to have a decent set built in just to get rid of the extra clutter speakers bring.
