Hello guys, my first post here.
I am trying to create a 3 monitor setup. I am going to use an HP 2710m, a 27 inch 1080p LCD monitor as center and want to purchase 2 HP2311x 23 inch 1080p LED monitors and mount them in portrait mode on each side. I did not decide on a video card yet but i will try to get one that can power all 3 with enough juice. My question is, is 2311x a good portrait monitor? I see some people are complaining that some monitors are bad in portrait mode, usually implying bad viewing angles.
Here is a link to the specs of the 2311x. Tnx.

It's bad in portrait mode because it doesn't have a VESA mount to make it go portrait

Holy moly, yeah I automatically assumed that it would have a vesa mount, I could not hang that thing portrait... Well what are my other options for ~23inch LED 1080p monitors that are portrait mountable within the same price range?

It is also a TN screen which are very awful in portrait. I would only consider a IPS/VA screen for portrait use.

Dell U2311 is one option. I believe it IPS and has pivoting stand for portrait mode.

I will check that monitor out, btw what is a TN or VA screen, I think I can google IPS myself, saw it before on the dell website.

TN = cheapest screen you can buy, with the worse vertical viewing angles. The also change depending on direction. Look at a TN from below and gets dark, look at it from above and gets pale, looks straight on and you get a gradient:

Turn it into portrait and it will drive you nuts.

How do I tell if a monitor is "TA"? I never see it listed under specifications. I am not knowledgeable about screens but I am trying to get something decent this time.

Also what do you guys think about the HP 2710m, I never read a review or test about it before I bought it, but it had the best picture among the rest of the monitors on display.

Edit: Ok I have read about the TA and VA technologies, so I guess the question left is what you guys think about the 2710m and if there are other portrait capable monitors that are a bit less expensive than the U2311
