i'm having a problem trying to connect to internet and having the FW do NAT. it is a Cisco 501 FW and i know the Internet connection works cause if i bypass the FW and connect the Internet directly into the server it'll http/ping, etc. if i connect into FW it fubars.

my verizon DSL gives me a static IP with gateway, dns, etc. when i https into the cisco FW via the 192.168.1.1 i use the startup wizard and configured the static IP,subnet+gateway into the "outside" interface i also chose the NAT using the ip of the inside interface. when i hooked everything up i can't http nor ping internet. i know i can access the cisco FW cause i can https the 192 address. but when i use the cisco's own ping tool to ping internet addresses it wouldn't ping. i don't know where the enter in the dns server addresses, do i have to put that in for the internet to work? that's one issue.

the second issue is that i can't see that the FW is routing or doing NAT to translate outside and inside traffic. so ya'll know howto do this?
