How's this ViewEra LCD look?

I've been shopping around for 19" LCD's, and Larkin linked me to this ViewEra. It looks pretty good to me, but I wanted to ask for some opinions before I went ahead and ordered it. If you guys have other recommendations feel free to post 'em, but I'm trying to stick to ~$250, non-widescreen.

I have never heard of ViewEra... IMO that's a bad sign. That said, you may be pleasantly surprised. God knows I was when I purchased a NU QL711V, (another no-name brand)... what are you going to use it for? Gaming? Movies? Office work?

For general office work and basic layout/design, I've found that the cheapest LCD is the best LCD. At my work, we buy these shitty Princeton panels from Costco that fail after a year, we just bring em back and exchange them.

Yeah I've never heard of 'em either, so I'm a tad nervous. By the numbers though it looks like a nice panel. It will be used for pretty much everything: games, movies, general work/typing, etc.

How does this Samsung look in comparison to the viewera? Specs seem similar, price difference is negligible, though ViewEra has a better dead pixel policy.

I would take Samsung over a no-name brand any day. They have consistantly great monitors, they manufacture their own panels and my experience with their home electronics has been great. Samsung is a high quality manufacturer.

In the end it probably doesn't really matter, you'll probably be satisfied either way.

That Samsung looks really nice. That model was going for a little over $400 not too long ago.

Honestly though I'm just as anxious about samsung. I have a samsung crt I've been using for like 6 years and it's been great, but I recently bought a samsung tv that was crappy, and I bought a samsung mp3 player that would hardlock my computer as soon as I plugged it in. So I have mixed feelings about them.
