Hey, I am looking at an Ultra X-finity 500w PSU for a good price and am wondering how it will handle my system. You'll have to convince me pretty good, as I have been using much inferior PSUs with absolutely no problems.

My system:

Opty 165 at 2.85 or higher (dont know if I want to increase volts at all ;) )
DFI Ultra-D
x1800xt pe
RAID 0 Raptors 74gb
160gb Seagate
MCP350 WC Pump
Fan Controller with 3 120mm fans

I have used a $25 HEC 580w PSU and am currently using a OCZ Modstream 520w with absolutely no problems. What I really like about the Ultra, is the higher 12v rail and the cables. My modstream is just a bit short.

What do you guys think...

Feel free to recommend something else as long as... I CAN BUY IT FOR AROUND WHAT I SELL THE MODSTREAM FOR!!!
No offence, but a lot of times you guys recommend an upgrade that is just out of my budget...

THANKS!

ya, the modstream has plenty of juice. no need for an upgrade unless you really need longer wires.

I have an Xfinity 500w powering a secondary system (not as powerful as your rig) and it runs silent, stable and the flexforce cabling is awesome. Having said that, I would probably keep the Modstream unless the cables really are too short for you.
