hows this nec?

for that price, i would get 2 Samsung 710T or 172X monitors, those are the best on the market IMO

Where can I get a 710T or 172X for $250?

i used to sell those at work, they are really nice displays but i hate how they have a layer of plastic over the screen.
it can cause major glare depending on the lighting

what do you guys think about this lcd? i'm thinkin of geting it to replace my 2 19inch crts for college

i just got it...first LCD for me but i think it's stunning...i remember walking by the LCD isle some months ago and noticing it simply because the image on it looked nothing like the other LCD's, to me it looked as good as a CRT...once i got it home, and this is just a subjective judgment, i thought it looked better than my old CRT (17 inch samsung syncmaster)

i'm a light gamer, i put it through some rounds of UT2K4 and i can tell you that there may be some ghosting but I for one can't see it...to my eyes the color and the geometry are just stunning, and i can't stop drooling over it...one of the best purchases i ever made (though I had to go through a couple at the store to find one with no dead pixels)

forgot to add, since I don't have a great video card I run my games at a resolution lower than native and the image quality, while lower than native, remains pretty good, about par with my old CRT

so for that price "$499" i would get 2 Samsung 710T or 172X monitors... or $499 for 2 monitors.. or $250 each...

No, at the price of $499 of the nec I would get 2 710T or 172X, each of these are about $520-$540. They are more expensive I would just pay the extra money to get the better monitors

I have one of those monitors on one of my servers... you are better off with a 710T or 172x.

The only thing I really liked about it was the protective plastic screen. I had used it for a while at work when I had co-workers that insisted my monitor was always a touch screen

Its only analog, and really the picture isnt all that great.

o ok, i really liked the cover over it thats wut made me like it, i guess i'll look around more
