Hows this for a camera?

What's your budget? In terms of movement, are you talking sports, kids running around, plays, or what?

i like nikon or canon
if your going with a point and shoot. Id say go for the SD870IS, S3/S5 and finally the G9.

When I worked at CC I returned a ton of the samsung camera's. And its not all about the megapixel count. How much of that image can be fit onto the chip, options, shooting modes, manual features and other things are more important IMO. I would definately trust one of the Canons or Nikons. Sony has some decent ones too but I personally am not a fan of them.

Paying with this for my tax return, but would like to keep it around $200 or lower.

Im going on a nice vacation sometime in the future and would like to get some shots as Im walking or people are moving.

Thanks for the replies guys, Ill check out the listed models.

well if your looking for something under 200, id go with the canon SD1000. It doesn't have a wide angle lens or image stabilization like the SD870IS though.

Yup, a Canon with a Digic III and IS is an easy choice. The SD1000 is great for an ultracompact (I'm genuinely impressed with mine), but it doesn't have IS. Get a camera with IS. It's that good.

IS will definately help if you shoot at night were being steady really shows up.
