Hey guys, so I've decided to take a dive into modern water cooling. The last time I made a WC loop was back in high school on a P4 Northwood.

My goal for this is to keep it under $150, and this will be a CPU only loop.

Here's what I've acquired so far:
-XSPC RS240
-Four XSPC 1/2" barbs
-DD CPX-Pro
-5.25" bay res (getting it from a friend so I'm not sure what it is)

What I'm planning on getting:
-PrimoChill PrimoFlex Pro LRT tubing
-EK Supreme or XSPC Rasa
-PT Nuke or silver coil

So far I've spent $82.22 (including shipping) on the parts I've acquired so I have $67.78 left for the tubing, biocide, and CPU block. I was curious if PT Nuke or a silver coil is better. PT Nuke is cheaper, but does either have an advantage over the other? If not, then there's no real reason for me not to go with the PT Nuke. Also, do you guys have any other recommendations for CPU blocks I should be looking at? I'm completely open to buying used as well. I know on OCN Bundymania suggested the Aquacomputer Kryos, but it's not available in the USA from what I can tell. Thanks!

If you can go used block that would probly save you some dough. I think swiftech still sells the GTZ new for like 60 but I'd think you could find something cheaper than that, just make sure it fits your socket of course.

Also you could probly save some money and go with some cheaper tubing. The 7/16 ID I ordered last was like 50 cents a foot instead of 2ish bucks a foot for the thermochill stuff. Course its clear instead of colored. I also use pentosin antifreeze in mine instead of ptnuke or silver. So my water is blue instead of my tubing. Food for thought.

Thanks for the reply. How well does your stuff bend? I was going to get the Primoflex since I'll probably have some pretty nice bends in my loop. I also liked it since it was anti-microbial and green in color (no way am I adding a dye).

I don't have too many crazy bends really. I did add in a 90 elbow to make the run from the MCW60 to the top radiator workable. I've not had any kinking or other issues but over all my loop is pretty spread out as I'm not running a chipset block or anything like that. My loop currently goes pump > out to rear mounted rad > cpu > gpu > 90 elbow to top mounted rad > T line > pump. Hope that helps you some. You can always get a short length of those coils if you need them to keep from kinking on a few bends. I'd think those would end up helping to minimize kinking more than a different brand of the same thickness of tubing but someone might correct me on that.
 
Go with the Rasa, the performance is very good for the price. I've got the EK Supreme HF myself, but it costs 30 bucks more and I bought it before the Rasa came out. I went with PT Nuke as additive. I don't like the idea of bits of metal floating around in my Res. Sounds like a solid build, just make sure you've got all the fittings you need. Because the shipping on this stuff sucks. Especially when you realize you need just a couple of more fittings and then have to pay 5 bucks more to get those few parts shipped out. G'luck with your build.

So I ended up getting the Rasa, Primoflex and a silver kill coil since Koolertek was out of PT Nuke-PHN. It should be here tomorrow. My res should get in on Friday so hopefully I'll have it all set up by the end of the weekend.

As for fittings I didn't know my CPX-Pro pump came with two, so I may have two extra :).
