ok so now i have a crosshair v and 8 gig ram sitting here ..
i'm now wondering what to put in it ? no way i'm spending £215 on a 8150
or £175 on a 8120

so should i go for a x6 140w
or a x4 black edt

???
or sell the board and mem and stick with my 6600 ...lol

I think (most) readers here are in the US. What do you use your PC for most?

What is 1090T/1100T/1075T pricing like? Do you have the 960T QC that you could (possibly) unlock to 6 cores? It's $125 at newegg. i think that is about 70 pounds....

What is 2500/k 2600/k pricing there?

As a person who have or had 2500K/1055T/Q6600 I'd sell it and stick to Q6600 till IB comes out.
Or just get 2500K now with cheaper mobo.

Just send me the board & call it a day.. I am still going to go bulldozer with an 8120 I think

a 1075 is £107 and the 1100t is £145
2500k ..@£175...and would have to buy new mobo so out the window ..:)

looking into a site that says it has the 8120 @ 95w have asked them to confirm this as that might be worth a go ..@£176
other than that a 1190 @£125 oc with the watercooling sys i have ..

oh amd why have thee failed me ...lol

Take a few days then look at it again. Maybe in 2 weeks or so they might dump some of the other cpu at lower prices.

The Phenoms are going going gone after this year. If you plan to pick up a X6 t1090 I would do it before the price skyrockets. Another plan is to return the motherboard or try to sell it.

What's next ? 2700k for 2600k price, SB-E starting with 4 core, 10 MB L3 and 3.6GHz ( IIRC ) base clock for around $320.

For a 1366 owner like me, SB-E is looking really attractive with a lower priced board ( don't need all the gizmos ).

++ I say 1090T.

The only exception would be if you want to try the FX-4100 (how is pricing? here it's about $130 (86 pounds?) at a local store....) and overclock the snot out of it. It's 3.6Ghz/3.8Ghz(turbo) stock...

SB-E 4 core is rumored to be at 2600 non K prices.

Don't get me wrong I adore my 2600K but I'm sorry I had to pull the trigger a few weeks ago as I was up against the wall. I really wanted SB-E's 8 DIMM slots. Maybe I'll hold on until IB-E and then I can finally have my ultimate dream system (also hopefully by then 8GB sticks will be much more affordable so I can get 64GB).

As to what's next for AMD it's pretty simple. It's a server, low end, and video card company. What a shame.

is'nt the fx-4100 just failed fx-8's ?? so would still be errr crap :)

I'm in the same boat as you. After finding out the disheartening info, I'm going to return my Asus Crosshair V (once it get's here) I ordered this past weekend. I just went ahead and ordered the 2600k and Asus p8p67 evo off newegg today.

so... why not sell the amd mobo and use that to offset the intel mb... u might not come out that much underwater on what you had been planning to spend on a BD proc to go with the mb anyways?

or you could get the 1075 and call it a day... it won't be as fast as SB but it won't be OMG i want to kill myself slow either...

ooooh or the fx-4100 oc'd all to hell option might work also ...except for the massive hole in the ozone from the electricity required to run it :D

yeah went with the 1090t £136 so not to bad ..
i did do a check on the i7 2600 unlocked with board and 12gig ram would have been close to £650
so no go there
£367 in all and will get a 120gig ssd .. should do the trick for 2-3 yrs ..

did you read the gaming review that HardOCP did? It shows that the gaming is pretty much the same as the intel chips except civilization. This is all too much overreaction due to waiting so long for this launch.

People need to relax and see what happens as more reviews are done.

the fx 8150 is competive with the i5 2500k in alot of applications.

I would sugest sitting down and listing what you use and what you don't use and then research how bulldozer does on it compared to the q6600 and the phenoms.

I know for me the 8150 is an upgrade over the 1090t i have. So i'm going to buy it (mabye the 8120 and just overclock to 4.5ghz which both seem to do )

Here is the thing . Bulldozer has very high power usage and mixed performance , alot of times its as fast or faster than the i5 2500k and some times its slower.

Its really up to u on what to do , but considering the faster phenoms in the state cost $180 to $200 and perform worse , the fx 8120 or 8150 isn't a bad deal since u have the board and ram

i have a feeling im going to sell my CHV and 955BE and pick up a 2500k and z68 bulldozer was just too much fail for me to really want to keep it.
