How's my rig look?

Is that hole a long oval covered by the psu or did u take all the molex heads off before squeezing the cables through that tiny hole. Just trying to think of how everything got through there, looks like a tight squeeze :)

i just let the cable pass first before securing the psu

What would you do to conceal the power cable going to my VC? Its kinda just there in the middle and I was wondering how you would handle something like that.

Would you do the same thing if you had a cable with a molex connector, the another one stemmed of to make a daisy chain... Could you just cut off the one that stemms off if you dont use it and electrial tape the ends still making it look clean you think?

you could, but it would look better if you removed the pins (uncrimping them, which is somewhat of a hassle, but do-able) and cut the wires there, so it would look like it was always meant to be just one molex, and you'd have no proof there was anything more than that

if you were to cut, i'd say for the best look, sleeve or something too - tape the wires individually, then tape them as all together and hide in the sleeving

I'm planning on removing the molex pins to put sleeving on my cables. From that step is it relativly easy to remove the second strand? Or is there more work to do from there... I've never dissected a molex so i dont know what to expect :)

As you can see here the IDE cable i'm using for the Optical drives is too long and tucks back in there.

To make a cleaner look I want have something shorter there. But everywhere I look for rounded cables the shortest they have for dual device is 18" which is what I have now. Its just too long, any suggestions?

after you have the pins out, you'd have to uncrimp them
so yeah, it'd be a little difficult, but time would be the reason, plus they might not be as tight fitting as before (on the wires)

wait a second

do you mean you want to remove a strand, or just some of the molexs on one strand

ok, i got a little confused haha
you can do it the easy way:
cutting inbetween both molexs, and individually tape the wires, then tape them to the strand going to the psu, then sleeve

or the longer, but possibly cleaner way:
uncrimping the pins and cutting wires, and re attaching the wires to the molex pins, and re crimping

Yea I have a few extra molex strands laying around so maybe I'll practice with that, thanks

I just installed a Zalman Heatpipe for my Radeon 9700 and an Aerogate II. Pics soon to come!
