Battlefield 2 SF killed my 6800 last night.. I already can't stand this gf2 mx400 =\
I called evga and the guy just told me I had to do the rma on their website.. the rma process is already disappointing me. I filled out the form and it says they'll email me rma info in 1-3 days before I can send it in.. Other companys tell you to send it in the same day. So this is just worrying me about what the rest of their rma process is like.
Any experiences?

You should get the RMA number today. I know most people get them the same day, if not the very next day.

The guy I spoke to said when they get it that they send out a new card instead of trying to fix it. By new does that mean Evga sends me a brand new card or a refurb?

From what I hear it's great. I've never done an RMA with them but judging by the other customer service I've received I don't see any reason why things shouldn't go smoothly.

They're super fast with RMAs.

My evga 6800 Ultra died one day and they had me a new one in about a week or so. The new 6800 Ultra also overclocked better - that's a plus :D

No, overclocking did not kill my card !!

When I get my 7800GTX, i'm going with evga. They rock !

great unless you live in canada, in which case they charge you extra to ship it to you...

they gave me free cross-shipping, but that's because i was a special case (one of the many people with botched 7800GTs).

I'm pretty sure you have to pay for shipping but the RMA process is relatively quick......the messageboards indicate a turnaround time of about a week.

One of the best customer service experinces i have had to date is from EVGA. Thats why i always make them my number 1 pick for grphics cards.

I was gonna cross ship but instead of just keeping my cc info on file incase I never send they said you gotta buy the new card, then when the old one arrives there they'll refund your CC. What kinda bs is that, not how other companies cross ship =\ No more Evga after this card.

Thas not BS at all dude. If you get upset over a company that is protecting themselfs while trying to do the best they can to do you right and service you your way off in left feild man. Its standard practice for MOST companies to do this. They get CC and bill you and when your old card gets there (or Mobo or PSU or Mem or insert part and company here) they give you complete credit back. Do you have any idea how many times these places have been hit by people not following thru on their part.. SO blame those Idiots that ripped off these places and FORCED companies to have policy like this not the company. Heck it allmost getting Impossible to get any cross ship from anywhere. I can personally say i have had Mobo manufactures vid card manufacture CPU manufactures and on and on and on do this.. I always got my credit back never any problems. So dont sweat EVGA for doing it at all man.. Its just the way of things..

Very good service. However, I had to RMA 3 times before I got a good card (running in SLI with it right now). Took me a month but the first RMA card was dead on arrival. The second one had artifacts after 1 day and the third one was cross shipped due to the troubles with the first two. This third card is working perfectly. Of course, to make things right, evga send the last two RMAs overnight and free of charge. Great service so far. Now, lets hope this card lasts for a while. I think some RMA cards are actually refurbished as the first RMA card was DOA and it looked like some of the chips had brown blotches on them (burnt). The second card had a faulty fan and was very loud. It died after 1 day of use. This third card is brand new looking, with silent fan, and worked great. Of course, I had to make a fuss about making sure that evga send me a new card...

If they didn't do that they'd probably have people putting stops on their credit card after they get the new card to prevent payment. That's what I'd do if I was a sleazy bastard. They have to cover their own asses so that they can afford to give a certain level of service.

People are so quick to cry and threaten to go to some other brand or company when something doesn't go their way. 90% of the time they realize its no better anywhere else.

EVGA will send refurb cards, depending on there stock, this is what I was told when I called them for a RMA on my 7800 GT. Bottom line your getting refurbished....... When I pay upwards of $360.00 for a card and I use it for 5 days, and have to return it due to problems, I should not get a refurb piece of trash in return..... that is horse shit I sent for a refund from www.newegg.com on mine and I am just waiting for the funds to hit the bank, and I am ordering a BFG 7800 GT

Friend sent his 6800 Ultra in for a replacement. Got a 6600 in return with a broken HSF, and so he called them to get his 6800 back, and they refused to do so without a picture of the card or box it came in, which he can't really do since they have his card and he returned it in the box.

wow that is horrid....

bfg sends refurbs as well. newegg screws you on the restocking fee, they will cut it in half if you buy someting of equel or greater value. that was there responce to me less than 2 weeks ago, card was still in cellophane .thats why i decided to not shop there anymore, same price at zipzoomfly and they ship fedex 2 day

For any of you posting here saying so and so screwed me and this guys shipped me a refirbed card... You better pay attention to the industry. Its the going standard for just about all manufactures to do the refurbed bit. ATI, NVIDIA.. any of the card makers for both all do it. Same with Mobos and Hard drives and all sorts of stuff. As far as the 6800/6600 story im pretty sure there is more to it then we are hearing. I own a loacal PC shop here in colorado and i do plenty of bussiness with lots of manufactures and distributors. I can say that in all the time ive done bussiness with EVGA I have yet to have a unresolveable issue. OR even an issue that they looked or acted even questionable. In fact most of the times they have gone above and beyond what i would have ever guessed or expected. I can say the same for most manufactures. Only a few top my list of those i wont do bussiness with. Some of us need to understand and learn that getting a TRUE and TESTED refurb is probably better then getting something strait out the box. First of how would you classify refurb? I think most of us have the wrong idea. Anyhow I know what my experinces are and they have ALL been Great.

They tell you they're shipping you a new unit though, not a refurb. Anyways, Evga recieved my card early this mourning according to my tracking number. When I check my rma status they haven't even updated to tell me they got it. Once they got your guys cards how long did it take for them to ship out your new one?

I would not check the website for your RMA status...they don't update them once they got your card...However from my extensive experience with their RMA dept., they will ship out a card (not necessarily new) in about 2-3 business days after they received your card. They ship it ground unless yours is a special case like mine (read a few posts up) then they will ship it overnight.
Funny thing is, I finally got an updated email today that my video card was shipped. I was surprised as they already sent me one. I checked the tracking number, and it was for the second RMAed card (one that had memory problems that I had to RMA again to get this third working card)...delivered 17 days ago....I guess their system has the year 2000 bug and is a "little" behind...So, may be you will get an update, but by then, you will be seeing it while using the video card they sent you...

Nothing more to the story, his 6800 started to have problems, he rma'd it got sent a 6600 with a broken hsf and now they won't give him a 6800 because they want proof thats what he sent them in the first place. Basically they screwed him and won't fix the problem cause they think hes trying to screw them for a better card.

And I'm sure your experience with them has been wonderful, you own a pc store you sell their products, why wouldn't they want to make sure you get treated right?

EVGA has an awesome RMA. I sent in my botched 7800 GT and they cross-shipped me a refurbed 7800 GTX. Just make sure you complain a lot and tell them that you've been a loyal EVGA customer for a long time and they should be pretty nice.

I sent my card on tuesday and got my replacement on friday. Now thats service lol

I might be out in left field here but when you pay $300-$500 for a video card I think there is no reason to have to deal with refurbished cards and bad RMA service. I've got my own tale to tell about problematic RMAs (having problems with BFG tech) but that's for a post all it's own.

If there is nothing but for proof to come by then all it takes is a recipt to show purchase. Heck even most on line vendors keep that info on hand. Like new egg does. Im pretty sure if its completly legit they will accept that as well. If he bought the card Directly from EVGA the WILL show it as well. Dont think that their customer server is just for shops that sell their products and those get the best service. They try to give everyone the same respect has been my dealings and understanding. SO i say still with my comment. If your freind got the card somewhere they SHOULD be able to help him so he can get it resolved.

All you do is go around telling people your story over and over and over, and you act like eVGA is the only company who ever sounds refurbs, or has problems with RMAs.

Actually I would say whatever problems you or anyone else would have with a refurb card is just silly. Its not like your getting a USED card. Its not like you are getting a Broken card. You are getting a card that possibly never even made it out of the facillity for whatever reason or even if they did,(most those reasons are pretty minor ones. Simply issues that were not like major. Most of us have the wrong idea of refurb in this sense. So are you saying the card you sent in defective is brand new now? No of course not its now used and its broken. I would take a refurbished card back anyday. Beings that they have been through normally pretty vigorus testing and such to prove the card is 100%+. By looking at a refurb and a new you would never know the difference.. Big thing to rembere is like I said before. MANY MANY MANY MANY manufactures of all sorts of the parts we use are doing it. Motherboards.. Vid cards, hard drives, CD/DVD/Burner/stuff, sound cards, routers and many other things. All done by many if not allmost all of those manufactures of those parts. Its become a industry standard almost. Its one of the things that has been done to help keep cost down on all that we buy. So people better get used to it. cause its the way it is.

People want to know what the RMA service is like from somone has gone though it I give them my opinion, if it offends you THAT much FAN BOY OF EVGA, then I am sorry but thats what the thread creator wanted to know that's what I let them know

And yes I know that other companies send refurb, thats nothing new, but most companies when you spend somthing of that magnitude, they tend to treat you better..... I have read tons threads of people that called BFG, and got BRAND NEW cards, and not refurb. My expierince with EVGA was "Don't call us, fill out a from on our site and we will send you what we feel " you don't treat a customer that spends upwards of $360.00 on your product like that. And I am in no way implying that NO one has had probs with BFG, and nor am I defending them, becuase this is the first product of theres I will have ever owned, i am just going based on what I have heard of BFG.

In my case I DID get a used card and it WAS a broken card. Check out the pics that I posted in my BFG RMA thread to see what happened. The point is that we recieve should recieve equipment back that is at least as good as the equipment that we sent in - and yes this includes the cooling hardware and other goodies. If companies don't do this then I don't want to do business with them. If I have no other options then that becomes a consideration, but if a company WILL come through when I really need it then that company will get repeat business from me. When a company doesn't then this needs to be publicly known so people can make informed decisions with their purchases.

*EDIT* - Don't get me wrong, up until this fustercluck I was a big fan of BFG and providing this comes out OK then I still will be. The thought of a vid card company that is actually run by people who activaly play PC games is just awesome.

RMA'd a EVGA 6800GT, I got a brand new card. Wait was a little long, but it was over thanksgiving weekend so I didn't expect it to be speedy. No problems for me.

I just recieved a 7800gtx 512 DOA and mad some small changes to the heatsink" had to cut out six fins to fit with dangerden a8n chipset block" before i tried it out, as it turned out i was unlucky and had a bad card. who would it be better to rma this card with new egg, or evga due to the small changes i made to the heatsink ? I know the warranty says no changes, so i want to go with whoever not going to dissect the card

well i call BS on the story about getting a 6600 with a broken heatsink... no proof and i REALLY dont think that if your friend would pay that much for a video card from the company you CLEARY dont like (looking at your sig...) and he didnt send them recipts, i flag it BS until theres proof.

and to the guy with the modded 512, buy a new heatsink, mount it up, return it. dont cheat the system. (new stock one...)
