How would I make something like this?

I am going to my local PC Recycle on my next paycheck to pick up some parts needed to make this. Is it ok to have direct contact with the wood and mobo?

BTW, the PSU will be covered, unlike in this pic.

uh.. the guy has standoffs there. i'd also reccommend soldering grounding wires between the standoffs and the power supply.. that way the mobo grounds itself properly.

wood is insulator... it should be ok...

just be afraid of stray lizards or roaches crawling on the wall to the dang mobo

Just start screwing shit to a board. I recommend using bolts with a spacer in between the computer boards and the wood board. Your motherboard is grounded through the power supply connector so you shouldn't need to ground your standoffs. If you need to ground your standoffs for the motherboard to work properly then the motherboard is either broken or just plain crappy. Throw it away. It doesn't look like too difficult of a project. I have thought about doing that from time to time. The main thing I would worry about is the video card. VGA cables are heavy and stiff, so it wouldn't take much to rip the card right out of the slot, especially if the cable is hanging from the card. I looks like the guy screwed his cards into the base board in that picture, but that looks like it would mainly just prevent the cards from being removed. It doesn't look like that provides much support.

yeah just screw/bolt it to the wood, wood insulates everything, and everything on a pc is grounded by all the black wires that go from everything to the psu (so aslong as your psu is grounded then everything is grounded if it has power to it.

just be sure that if you bolt things down that junk doesnt get between the mobo, and the board, and that you dont put any current threw the bolts and then jump it to the board to short things out (you would probably have to try realy hard to do this in the first place)

good luck happy modding

Got it together today, and up and running. Duck tape is temporary :p

I would make a bracket to support your vid and nic though, with them hanging like that it might put undu stress on the agp and pci slots. Looks good otherwise
