I just recieved, 2 10 inch neon tubes, that are supposed to be used in your car. they plug into the 12v dc outlet in the car. i was wonder if it possible if i can use these in my case? i also have a recharchable battery (wondering if i could use that some how). picture will be up soon
EDIT: or i want to know if i can use these with a stardard plugg outlet for use under my desk?

you can put the in your computer.

rip off the car adapter plug and put a molex connector to it and it will work.

Yep, just wire it up to a molex and you will be good to go

Don't wire them into 115VAC!!!! Wall plugs are AC, and 115V of it - Computers are 12VDC

The black wires to the four pin connectors like those that feed your drives are a ground and the yellow wires are +12 volts dc

I’m not sure polarity (positive vs negative) matters but to be safe try to remember which wire was connected to the tip of the cigarette lighter adapter and connect that one to the yellow molex wire, and the wire connected to the side prongs of the car adapter needs to be connected to the black (ground) wires.
I've converted car neons to PC neons several times.

I have connected automotive lights and a power inverter (allows you to plug in electrical devices in your car ie: a lap top, shaver, or coffee maker) to a PC before, automotive electronics run on 12 volt DC, as do devices in your PC. Just remember black to black, and red to red.
