How would a HDTV LCD 17" Preform?

Okay I am just curious, how would a 17" HDTV (mean to be a TV) LCD monitor preform as a computer monitor. In day to day use as well as in gaming. Also would you be able to explain to your graphics card what it is.

I was just cuious because yesterday I was at Best Buy and saw a TV similar to this one and was just curious if it would work (it was an open box sale at around $550, regularly $800)

What would gaming do to this, would there be a crap-load of ghosting, and would you be able to read small text in day to day use?
 
As a tv, they make great tv,s. Nuff said :D

Tried it, been there, done that, even have the t-shirt in my hamper. As a second monitor, back up..ok but not what I'd recomend as a main monitor at all...and I've tried most of them.

If your looking for pc gaming performance in addition to tv, it would probably be better to look for a lcd monitor (not "lcd tv") and use it as a tv with an add on hdtv reciever. You could probably get by hooking your computer up dvi and the reciever vga, unless you want to hook up consoles than you would want component inputs. The 23" hp l2335 is a perfect example of a lcd monitor that makes a great hdtv also, but there might be smaller/cheaper screens that have the same ability.
 
Question..... Why? In the end, you get a 17" LCD for 600 dollars... You can almost get a 2001FP (over 20 inchs) for that price. If you're wanting it to double as a TV, why not just get a TV tuner card and a high end LCD monitor?

Is there something I'm missing here? :confused:
 
I never planned ot get it, or want it, I was just curious how it would preform. I would never buy a TV samller than 27" I dont watch it too much, but when I do it is not on a 17" monitor.
