how to windows update a pc that wont update

ok I have 2 computers (two celeron (like 400mhz) one a HP another, compaq) anywho,

go to windows update, i start the scan and i get and the site gives me an error, (not a pop up, but the site tells me it cant run update)

so whats the best way to instal updates on a pc that i cant scan for updates on???

thanks for any help...

At a guess, pay for Windows XP? :D
 
damn you guys relied fast (i came back b/c i forgot to subscribe damn no search...)


Im running a legit copy of 2Kpro (Im not a fan of xp its more of a hinderance that a help for me, and yes i just dont know it as well and dont want to)

so i just have to manualy DL and instal, i can do that (Id rather not, but i can live with that)

In IE, make sure there is an entry in languages setting (recently saw a case where the setting was modified by a program install, and the user wasn't able to use windows update).

Tools->Internet Options
General tab
Languages button.

If you use an English version of the OS, make sure that the "[en-us]" language is still listed there.
 
BLsibub666 - Try checking the date on the computers btw. Make sure they're correct.
