Want to turn my internal 3.5 1TB WD drive into an external and plug it into my wireless router. Whats the most cost effective route to do this?

So could I use this with my 1tb drive and plug it into my Router and access it from each computer?

Yup, that can work. Note that you're paying a wee bit more for USB 3.0 which most routers don't have (but if yours does, by all means).

I have a 32GB USB flash drive hooked up to mine. Basically turned it into my own personal cloud storage. :D

Thanks for the info Solid, Maybe a 64 GB flash drive would work for what I want and at same cost. Will look into that!

I paid 20€ for a basic no name USB3 enclosure. It works well but there is no fan, I cut into the sides to allow more air but it's still not great. I would not use a dock for a permanent install, a dock is put on your desk and allows to plug a collection of hard drives.
