okay.. not saying i'm a hoarder.. but apparently i've got 3 PSUs that i've.. uhh... collected, over the past couple years. instead of just trashing them, how would you suggest i store them, if i don't have OE boxes for them? 2 are non-modular, and 1 is an old modular Antec that doesn't have most of it's cables...

In a paper-based material consisting of a fluted corrugated sheet and one or two flat linerboards with sufficient volume to store your items, e.g. a damn box :D

Turn one into a bench power supply. Great source of high current 3.3, 5 and 12v as well as lower current -5 and -12 and any combination by combining the rails. (ex: 12v and -12v gives you 24v).

Great for testing fans and what not, or powering an electromagnetic coil for magnetizing screwdrivers, or screwing around with hydrogen fuel cells. :D

Heck, combine all 3 to make a super power supply. :D

It is not advisable to store the PSUs for an indefinite period of time.
Use them and sell them when not needed.

I have more than once put a power supply in the attic in a box where temps can be -10F to 130F and come back 3+ years later to use them and they worked without any issue at all. Although these were most likely less than 400W since I now keep my spares in the computer room..

Always keep one on hand to jumpstart for filling/bleeding/leak-testing water loops :)

It doesn't take me long to acquire enough spare parts for a complete computer that I'll either give away or sell at a very modest price. Or use to expirement with extreme overclocking just for the fun of it. If however you don't think you'll ever use them and they aren't worth selling, I'd just toss them.
