So a few of my friend around the metroplex and country have started to sit down and chat/cam with yahoo at night.. One of the things they wanna do is have one person broadcast music for everyone to listen to.. previously they were just puttin the Mic by the speaker for the voice chat.. and well, it sucks.. Id like to learn how to setup a Winamp broadcast server so we can all tune in..

Can someone enlighten me as to how

I go the shoutcast addon but Cant figure out what im supposed to do.. Readme doesnt make much sense to me.. This is not high bandwidth.. Its strictly to be made as a private server of like 15people or less

edit:
Using shoutcast and reading the tutorials, I have done everything its asked.. Changed the initial password, named my server, set my encoding, forwarded ports 8000 and 80001 TCP/UDP via my router, enabled the ports in the firewall.. Still getting no bounceback.. wtf am I doing wrong?

Hiya

I don't use winamp (I use SAM) and the only person I know who used to isn't online. He could probably give you chapter and verse. I know he said it was a real pain to use.

Did you try here: http://forums.winamp.com/ They do have a separate section just for shoutcast and they seem a helpful group.

Good luck!

ok.. so I made a little progress..
Radiotoolbox finally says the port is open and says there is a server running..
Im still having the same probleam with a SLIGHTLY different error..

Original Error
[yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: ##.##.###.##:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out).)

Is now
yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (404 Cannot see your station/computer from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache.)

Ugh.. now what?
