I have 3 Coolermaster TLF-R82 fans in my case. All the reviews suggest that they are very quiet. However, to me, they are very loud. I am wondering if there is anyway I can slow them down without doing some sort of physical mod? Thanks

get a fan controller, like CM Aerogate. That's not really a mod, since no cutting is involved.

Thanks for the reply, but I am hoping for a cheaper solution. Is there a less fancy kind of fan controller?

Theres a mod to make your fans run at 5V by switching wires in the molex IIRC, it's a physical mod though, which you said you didn't want to do.

Correct. It is all you can do though if you don't want to pay for a fan controller. And it barely qualifies as a mod. All you have to do is switch the wires. Yellow is 12V; Red is 5V. Switch your fans positive lead to the 12V and the ground to 5V. Now you have a quieter, slower fan running on 7V instead of 12V. And without spending any money :)

Well I have read about the mod awhile back but people say that it is dangerous to the PSU and you need another fan to run at 12 V in order to keep it safe or something like that. That is why I was looking for another alternative.

download speedfan and install it. Plug in your fan connectors into the motherboard, id do that to the 2 front ones, and leave the exhaust on full.

News to me. I've done it with all three case fans probably about a year ago. No probs...

look in the power section of your BIOS. If there is a fan controller (asus has one) set the thing to a low fraction.
