hello guys,

i am new to this SPDIF stuff and i just got my Aus K8V Deluxe mobo. it only have 3 regular audio jacks on the mobo and then 1 SPDIF jack.

it has 6 channel onboard sound, but i dunno how to set it up.

i have logitech Z5300 speakers.

anyone who can tell me what i need, or how to set it up i would be greatful.

here are my questions.

what adapter do i need to plug my speakers into the SPDIF jack?

will that single SPDIF jack along with the other 2 audio out jacks give me surround sound?

does the 1 SPDIF jack work like a channel? giving front or left/right sound along with the other 2 jacks giving sub or rear/front sound?

thanks!

C

These are color coded analog jacks. There is no digital capability. Plug them into the appropriate analog jacks and don't sweat the digital.

i did that, but, i dont have any surround sound. i can only plug 2 of the 3 jacks from my speakers into the mobo and it only gives me 3 working speakers out of 6. i have 3 regular audio jacks on the back panel. 1 mic and 2 others for lines out. so i dont see how i can run surround sound with all 6 speakers without using the SPDIF options. see what i mean?

i dont really care about digital sound i just want surround sound.
