How do i setup RAID ? my board is a ASUS M5A97 EVO and i have two SATA 6GB/s HDDs
 
Hook up the drives, go to the BIOS, setup the array as your wish RAID0 (performance) or RAID1 (Redundancy) load the windows installer, install to array (loading drivers if needed) and complete windows setup.
 
So you are going to use these as backup drives and not boot from them? Setup them as RAID1 then (With R0, if you lose either drive you lose the data on both, with R1 either drive can fail and you still have a drive up). Keep in mind that a locally attached RAID array, R1 included should not be considered an adequate backup. If your power supply fries so could your array. If you get a nasty virus it could wipe your array. A backup should be offline most of the time, hooked up or activated for the backup and then disconnected/removed (offsite would be best).
 
yes back up and not boot. i don't think my Corsair TX850 will fry just got it ? and ok thx will do RAID 1

Age is a factor but that does not mean there is a 0 chance of a brand new power supply dieing. Plan for any hardware component dieing at any time if your data is valuable to you.
 
Raid is not reliable for back up. If 1 drive fails you loose all data.
