Hello,
I downloaded real and quicktime alternative which installed Media Player Classic. After the install, web pages that used to use WMP9 began using classic instead which doesn't load divx so I can't view a lot of web pages. I tried uninstalling both alternatives but no effect. Anyone know how to set WMP9 back to IE's default player?

see thats what happens from half measures :p

K-Lite Mega

which will fix that little DivX issue in MPC
as to how to make WMP the dafualt and actually answer your question, I dont know having stripped WMP out altogether

a reinstall might work, not sure
Id look for a setting in WMP to make it the default

I love the K-lite pack :). A reinstall didn't do anything and I can't find any settings inside WMP. I'm not sure how my divx got broken inside web pages...when i load outside of the web everything works fine. Oh and another note....i never realized how much WM classic is better than WMP9 with all these codecs....its amazing sound and video quality. I can't decide b/t VNC and WM classic though.

unfortunately I lack the ability to troubleshoot that one firsthand
I used http://www.litepc.com/ to strip this install down

recently got turned onto http://www.nliteos.com/nlite.html (freeware)
however it employs the beta .NET framework and the first install opportunity I had to employ it was based around an ap that employs a different .NET framework Im not sure is compatible and I dont have the time currently to find out.

hopefully someone will be along that can give you some first hand advise ;)

are you using FF or IE?

might try this

The DivX Web Player (formerly known as the DivX Browser Plug-In Beta) lets anyone embed high quality DivX videos in their web pages or blogs without using special streaming servers or installing server-side software. Video plays live inside the browser or full-screen while it downloads!

This is the final 1.0 version for Windows and for the Mac (PowerPC). A universal binary for the Mac and a Linux version are still in development and will be available soon.

On Windows, all of the following browsers are supported:

* Internet Explorer (5.0 and above)
* Firefox (1.0 and above)
* Mozilla (1.7 and above)
* Netscape (8.0 and above)
* Opera (8.0 and above)

a few test files

woot, divx and avi files are good to go now.

wmvs still don't work though :(

MPC should do wmv with the K-Lite mega pack

cant recall if you have to check a box in the install or not for it to default,
I do recall I had that issue once

Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > File Types > WMV > Change > Media Player Classic

think that should fix it

I am watch WMV on it right now

guess what the first return is for 1.wmv in google?

heh nice return google. I tried looking at Baywatch1 since it was the shortest, but it only asks me to download the wmv.

The embedded wmv's are working now =D. Just tested it w/ an ebaum clip.

Thanks much !!
