My hard drive as of a couple days ago would not boot up, it kept restarting when loading ipvsmon.sys. So i bought a new hd and started over, installing windows and downloading everything I need, but I still have important files that i need to retreive.

Is there any way I can use the hard drive that has messed up SYS file as the slave HD, and just access the files and transfer them? I dont want to pay $50 for some guy to do it in 10 minutes

please help

Well, just hook it up and try. It'll appear at the first free drive letter in windows, if it's recognized.
(Are you sure it's failing, and it wasn't a software-caused error, btw?)

i have had several virus notifications, but it said they were quarantined. I didnt really know what that meant but thought it meant everything was safe. I never restarted my computer. But one time i had to and when i rebooted...it wouldnt load windows. Crashed at the loading of ipvsmon.sys everytime
