i have AOL cable interent so i cant rout my broadband directly throught my wireless router. i have upgraded to windows 2k3 and im wondering if i can use the server capabilities to rout internet to multiple computers.
Yes, you can use Win2k3 to "route the internet". You have two options:
1) The easiest: just enable ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) in the properties of the network connection that is attached to the internet.
2) More complicated but offers more features, use Routing & Remote Access. I don't have time to delve into this topic, and ICS is more than enough for home-small business use.
But, you mention you have a wireless router, which would eliminate the need for another device/machine to route data.
BTW, what are you doing with Win2k3 and AOL anyways?
