I accidently patched TCPIP.sys, but it was for the wrong build of windows, so the wrong bytes got patched. So I know that it's probably screwed up.

How can I get windows to replace it with a good TCPIP.sys again?

Thanks.

Assuming that you're running Windows 2000, XP Pro, or 2003, load up the CD, reboot and go into setup. Then enter the recovery console (should be a prompt for it).

Within the recovery console, extract the tcpip.sy_ file from the CD to the proper directory on your harddrive. On any other operating system, I'm not sure.

I typically recommend everyone install the Recovery console after a clean build anyway. But this is how you do it. once you grab the good version off the CD, you should be fine.
