How To Remove Round Standoffs

Does anyone have experience or suggestions removing a round motherboard standoff? Need it removed because it makes contact with some pins thanks to a weird motherboard layout.

Looks exactly like this... and comes in an Antec case...

It's one of the stupidest things I have ever seen, what were they thinking.... UGH

EDIT: Thanks for the suggestions. Tried pliers and a vise but thought probably needed a rubber grip to get any traction. Went underneath to see if I could dremel it out and saw the thing is in fact soldered onto it. Stupid or just evil? In a completely unrelated matter I have a ASUS Gene IV board for sale now...

Link doesn't work, but use a pair of pliers and/or cut it off with a dremel.
 
yeah use some vice grips to get it out. it should only be as tight as you screwed the mobo screw into it, so a pair of vice grips should be enough if regular pliers dont work.
