Hi I am new to the whole case modding scene. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on how to remove rivets from my Lian-li case. If it helps they are not solid rivets, they have a hole in the center. Thank in advance.

I have a bit of a dobacle myself. If I drill out the rivets, can I still put new ones in the same hole? Because the top of my case is riveted in and I would like to put it back on afterwords.

You can put new rivets in. A rivet gun and some rivets can be hand for less then $10.

Just to clarify, that when you drill them out, all you really need to do is drill the head off the rivet... Drilling through the metal panel is not what you need to do. The best thing is to use a drill that is the same diameter of the hole that the rivet is in. That way you will cut the rivet in half where it is holding the metal together and the rivet should just seperate... Think of it as drilling through the center of the top of a nail. Once you drill through the middle on the head of the nail and you reach the shaft of the nail, the head will fall off looking like a washer, while the shaft of the nail just falls free...

Use a 1/8th inch drill bit to drill out the rivets.. and like has already been said just get a rivet gun and some new rivets..

Yep, if you use the same diameter drill bit as the rivet (or less).

A 3- or 4-flute countersink stuck in wooden file handle will also serve to cut the heads off of pop rivets. A few twists and the head falls off, then punch the remainder through. This is useful when your s/o object to power tools in the living room. :p

Screws can be used too. Usually 8-32 is the correct thread size. Just tap the holes out and the screws will go right in, and be removable if you may ever need to.
