How to remove Netware client from XP?

Once you have loggeed into Windows and are at the desktop. Go into Network Connections from the Control Panel.

Go to the properties of one of the LAN adapters, in there you will see Netware Client for Windows or something like that. Click on it and Uninstall.

That should do it.

They used to have a special removal tool called "unc32.exe"...which was normally copied into the Novell Client directory. Was a custom removal tool to more completely uninstall it.

Haven't worked on Novell stuff in years though..dunno if they still use that tool on current Client32 versions.

LoStMaTt is correct.
Remove the Netware protocol in your TCP/IP settings.
Also If there is any client netware apps remove those also as they will cuase issues at boot up sometimes.
Make sure the "file and printer sharing" and "Client for Microsoft Networks" as your top protocols.

Also may want to remove other stuff from within the Add/Remove Programs control panel like NICI encryption, which is more or less a standard with newer clients. Don't remember if NMAS is also stored there, we don't use it ourselves....but it may be something else to look for.

Just as a note: I have found that you can never fully get rid of it using the above (correct) method.

I had a machine that used to have the client. It had long been removed. I did a OS repair on that machine months later. During the installation it asked for the Netware client CD...

My opinion: Depending on your time, resources, and willingness, you might be better of reformating and starting from scratch.

When did they start injecting their junk in TCP/IP settings?
All of the clients made for Windows 2000 or above have had this behavior.
