how to re-enable 640x480 resolution

Once I load any video driver, the 640x480 disappears and my lowest becomes 800x600. Is there a way to re-enable the 640x480 without removing my video driver?
 
change ur monitor driver to a 14" monitor..
it should be selectable then i would think.
i just tried it on my pc at work...but it has windows 2000 and not xp
 
I think 800x600 is the minimum resolution for XP once any video driver is loaded. It matters not whether the monitor and video card support such a low res
However, if you edited the monitor .inf file so it only contained 640x480 settings...well, that might work.
 
No tweaks or modifications are necessary. To select 640x480, do this in display properties:

This still works in the Vista beta too.
