Here's what I need to do and I really don't know the best way to handle it. I need some way to put an application on a web site for people to fill out and then submit it back to an email address. How is the best way to do this?

it pretty much 100% depends on the server that the website is hosted on and what options for server side programming you have open to you. The easiest and quickest way would probably be to use a simple php page or perl cgi script.

I am confused.. they download this program and then it it get's emailed back, or is there some sort of form they are filling out on the app and the data gets returned? The latter can be done with java or any scripting language... the former's a bit different.

Well, either way would be fine...either they could download the form and fill it out and then email it or if I could put the form on the web page and them fill it out and then that data get sent to us. Whichever is the easiest.

So you are basically looking for some survey software? There are many canned ones, some free- some not, and they are pretty easy to make your self provided you know at least one scripting or programming language compatible with the server you are hosting it on.

Can anything be done with .pdf files? Other than them downloading them, opening it and printing it out? i.e. there's no way for someone to fill out a form if it's a .pdf file on a web site is there? I'm no pro at doing any advance web site stuff. I mainly use FrontPage 2003 and that's about it. Is there anything that can be done from inside FrontPage that will accomplish this?
