• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

How to prevent this.. ?

I've seen some freeware that clears out MRUs (Most Recently Used) lists. Some of these may do the run history. I've never seen an option to disable it, however.

adaware will allow you to clear it easily .. but no clue with a program or reghack to disable it.

lol no, but since i use the group policy editor a lot i dont want users to discover that command (gpedit.msc).

i think i'll try a hidden shortcut for the poli editor.

any other ideas??

Use a GPO to remove the run command from the start menu and just use Win + R to open the run box. Most normal users don't know that shortcut combo.

Could also access GPO directly from admin tools.

I think he want's to hide it because of regedit and sex.exe too. :p

Uhhh Hello? Am I the only one that knows this method to clear it?

(That looks like a WinXP dialog box so here's the answer)

-Right click Task Bar, Left click Properties
-Left click Start Menu tab at the top
-Left click Customize
-Left click Advanced
-Left click Clear List button at the bottom

Click Start Button, Left click Run and no more entries...

I would do this when building images using sysprep/ghost for the local admin account

can't u just diable users from running gpedit using FS security settings?

Ohhhhhhh dang, I even read through it a few times to make sure I wasn't missing something. <smacks self on head> sorry.

Can I do a minor hijack and ask if there is an easier way to clear Remote Desktop history other than removing the reg keys?

most time when you enable or configure policy settings to prohibit users from performing certain actions it removes hot keys as well...

remove run commmand from start menu

Removes the Run command from the Start menu and removes the New Task (Run) command from Task Manager. Also, users with extended keyboards can no longer display the Run dialog box by pressing Application key (the key with the Windows logo) + R.

This policy affects the specified interface only. It does not prevents users from using other methods to run programs.
