I recently lost one of my Secure Digital Cards that had some very imporant information on it. Someone found it and returned it to me as they had read one of the files on it that had my name on it. How can I secure this with a password protection program, so no one can read my information on it?

that's really the same as trying to password protect a folder. there isn't really a universal way that will work on all computers. perhaps there is some way of encrypting it

My sony micro-vault came with a password feature I never tried.

When using Password Lock for the first time
1. Plug-in the Micro Vault to your computer.
2. Double-click the "PasswordLock_setup" icon on the CD-ROM.
3. On the installation screen, select the Micro Vault (drive) to set the
Security Drive.
4. It will automatically start installing the application. When completed,
restart your computer.
5. You will find the Password Lock icon on your Micro Vault. Double-click
the icon and the setup menu will be displayed.
6. Click "Set/Change password" in the setup menu and set a password. Enter a
hint as well to remind you of your password in case you forget it.

Using Password Lock
1. Double-click the Password Lock icon on the Micro Vault.
2. Click "Unlock" from the setup menu.
3. The Security Drive will appear in 'My Computer' when you enter the password.
4. Double-click the Password Lock icon to lock the Security Drive and then click
"Lock" in the setup menu. The Security Drive will be locked and disappear from
'My Computer'. Be sure to lock the Security Drive before removing the Micro Vault.
5. The Security Drive has an initial capacity of 8 MB. If you want to change
the capacity, select "Resize size" in the setup menu. Increasing the capacity
of the Security Drive will reduce free memory space.

To use on other computers
Double-click the Password Lock icon on the Micro Vault to setup the application
for use. Then, restart the computer.

I'm guessing its kinda like a partition that is "secure" (or where the pr0n goes). But it needs to be setup on other computers to use...

Maby I'll try it. It would be stupid if you could access the files before installing the program on another system. Disadvantage would be not being able to install it on public computers with restrictions.
