i just got my new case from newegg today and i am goin to mod it (window, fan holes) and i was wondering what is the best way to aproach painting the case?

Then what colors do you guys recommend are the easiest to paint with?

I painted mine red on the outside, black on the inside. I'll see if I can take some pics and get them up later tonight. Your best bet would be to search for the many guides out there on painting, but here are the basics:

sand your case down to either the bare metal, or a thin layer of the paint that's on there. Personally, I did it to the bare metal. Start with rougher sand paper and work your way to a finer grit such as 2000.

Spray several coats of primer on to the case (I did like 2 or 3 I think), sanding inbetween each coat, so you get a smooth finish

Then start applying the layer of paint, again, sanding inbetween each coat with the finer grit sandpaper (start out with something like 600-1000 grit, but with more coats, work up to about 2000).

Once you feel satisfied with out it looks and how much paint is on there, then spray on one of those clear protective coats, and sand it down with a fine grit.

Oh and when sanding, be sure to wet sand, not dry sand.

This is by no means a complete guide, but that's basically what I did, and it seemed to turn out all right.

thank you for you help, my friend paint his case and he said it was alot of work, but this case is for my new comp which i am goin to be building at end of month so i have time to mod it.

ooo crap i just got my case today and it is a ATX and i will be building my new comp beginning of next month will i be ok on the format.

like when are BTX motherboards suppose to me comeing out?

I just took the side panels off and brought them out to the garage and sprayed painted them (black), let them dry, and then touched it up with a sharpie. :) It looks good enough for me.

I took mine to a Car body shop and had mine powder coated crimson red. Because there was so little (on comparison to cars) cost like 50$ US. Looks incredible as well.
