im getting the asus p5w dh deluxe and i need new ram and im getting the e6400

can someone give me advice for overclocking and ram to choose.
1. i dont get the changes between RAM and CPU(why raise ram and cpu and not cpu or ram?) in the context of overclocking
2. in laymans what is latency and their importance, can you change latency in bios, is a low latency important
3. should i start off in small increments until i crash it or should i go big and work down
4. what is HTT
5. do you know of anyone that has deystroyed a cpu/m0b0/ram when overclockin?
6. what air cooler works best( whatever you use or the highest overclockers use)

also, would attaching to heat sinks to the CPU work if you had something touching the cpu(a small triangular heatsink) and on the side of the heatsink put normal cpu coolers???

Dude have another pc near you with internet and i will help you over the internet with all this on msn.

Get the things and get a decent cooler like the scythe ninja or a freezer 7 pro if you have half the budget.

as u raise cpu FSB then the Ram frequency also raises, they are both proportional. when u OC, u OC not just CPu but also RAm and some other components.

lower latencies=tighter timings. tighter rimings better performance= less access time.

dude, read the stickies first or better yet http://eclipseoc.com/index.php?id=6
don't just go dig into OC'ing w/o reading and udnerstanding anything. because no matter what we gonna tell you, you wouldn't understand and we have to spell it out for you.

htt is to amd, whereas FSB is to intel. basically they are the same.

PLENTY, and more than u could imagine. especially people who dont read stickies.

most overclockers used watercooling. some have excellent air cooling, i.e. scythe, zalman etc..

dude, all ur basic questions are answered here.

please read it first before u ask any questions. there are terms there like HTT, FSB, LATENCY that are explained what it is. we will help you, but please help urself too by reading and understanding the link i gave you. By far, it is the best OC'ing guide for newbs and beginners.
