I just got an abit x700 pro 256 and found this prog called atitool so i tried it and it says it works but I don't see actual results.

It bumped my 3dmark05 up from 3100 to 3500 but when I check my fps in css and hl2 nothing changes. With all of the bells and whistles set to what the pc thinks they should be set too, I get from 100-120 (depending on gun fights, etc) and when I turn everything all they way up they drop from 29-60.

So I go to atitool, load the oc'ed profile, and nothing changes. Is it suppose to?

I'm a noob at oc'ing vid cards so be gentle.. :D

What are other specs of the system? What resolution do you play at normally? Could be the CPU is limiting your card in that game. Have you compared fps before/after the OC in any other games?

with small OC's on an already not-too-powerful card you arent going to see any big gains. hense why you arent seeing any big gains.

You should see a good 10-15fps improvement with a max overclock of ur card.

You can try the hl2 stress test and see what results u get for the oc and stock..

But other than that, its really hard to notice 10 extra frames, so the only thing that OCing does is increase ur 3dmark, if u care about that. Not that many pple can tell the difference between a stock card and an oc one, unless u look at ur fps during games, in which case u should be able to see them max out a little more than stock.
