Hi - I'd like to share a folder on a network. My computer is running XP Pro. So I looked at the sharing options - and they were "share this folder on the network" and "allow network users to change files in this folder". Is there any way to password protect all access - both write and read - to the folder? If it matters the folder is actually the root folder of a hard drive - though not the primary hard drive.

Yup. You do it the same way you do it in 2K—through permissions and user accounts.

you have to disable simple file sharing in tools->folder options->view in any explorer window
