how to make a .iso from a CD-ROM

I dont know why, but I searched through a bunch of forums and about 15 pages of google and was unable to find any results for this...

how do you make an ISO image from an existing CD-ROM?

( this is not related to piracy, it's for a linux CD my freind gave me )
 
acohol 120% does everything. From burning isos, to making them and reading them like a virtual CD rom.
 
You'd need something to rip the CD image to the hard drive, but you could burn the image to a CD-R using Nero.

I would like to know the same. How can I get an .iso image using nero. I have read it can be done, but I have no idea how to.

There is a dropdown box on the top toolbar, listing your drive. change it to image recorder. That'll make an image for you.
 
Another cheap free option for XP is "ISO Recorder" (google it)
