I am upgrading my dell 9150 from the cheap old ATI video card that came with it with a new EVGA 7800GT.

Do I first change video cards, start up computer, and just update the drivers for the nvidia one's and then unistall all the ATI crap,or do I first uninstall the ATI stuff, change cards and install the NVIDIA drivers/software?

What's the best way to go?

First uninstall the ATI drivers. Then go to nvidia.com and install UART drivers. Then reboot with the new card in. After that you install the nvidia drivers for your card.
