How to install a new AMD processor?

i pull some bonehead move and try to install a dfi utility driver and COMPLETELY eff-up my internet !

If you don't have system restore disabled, you should be able to use it to restore to a point previous to your installing it.

yeah I tried that and still it didn't work.
I still couldn't connect to the internet.

I tried taking it into my local computer shop where I had the thing built however go figure I've had the system for 2 years and on the first day that I need them.... they are unexpectedly closed.

However I can't seem to make up on my mind on a heatsink.... I really don't know anything about them, I don't mind spending some money on the thing, however I'm not sure which one to purchase.

can any1 persuade me?

ty

about not connecting ot the internet, go to device manager and tell me the hardware ID of your network card, if you do that ill be able to direct you to the drivers.

for the cooler: the thermalright ultra120 is the best air cooler (and it can be passive) but its very big and about 70 bucks

however
i'd go with the blue orb II, ti works well, its quiet, and its low profile and about 40 bucks

Was able to fix the internet problem but thanks regardless Cup!

Thanks for your heatsink suggestions as well!

*edit

I was lookin in the case mod section, and a lot of guys are running the Zalman CNPS9500
seems like it's fairly popular.

also am i going to have to re-arrange my case in order for this thing to properly work?
it seems as if HSF's like the Zalman suck the warm air out and need a fan behind them..

Note: does anyone know if all the wires that are bundled up are needed? it came like that from the time i ordered it, and only now looking at the cases on here do i feel like a putz with all these wires*

hmm, I'll think I'll just order it regardless.
I know it'll do the job, and I'm pretty positive it'll fit and work w/ my current set up...
